  2. It prevents melanin from reaching the surface of a person’s skin. Even though the body produces melanin naturally, it can still have unwanted effects on a person’s skin clarity.
  3. Niacinamide is the product of niacin being converted due to the body having more than enough.
  4. A deficiency in niacin can actually have very adverse side effects including skin irritation and diarrhea
  5. Niacinamide is the active ingredient in many different beauty products, which are applied topically or ingested

What is Niacinamide?

Niacinamide is another form of Vitamin B, and is also the result of Niacin being transformed due to excess. Sounds complicated, but it really isn’t. When the body has too much Niacin it automatically converts it into Niacinamide. The two different forms have differing benefits, and Niacinamides most commonly known benefits mainly relate to skin health and beauty.

What are the benefits?

While often the benefits of Niacinamide are widely reported as primarily focused on skin health, there are actually many reasons why this compound is beneficial to health. Many of these benefits are particularly applicable to those who are suffering from age-related conditions.

Healthy Skin

Niacinamide & Skin Health

Niacinamide has countless benefits for the health of skin, especially the outer appearance of skin. Enlarged pores, blotchiness, redness, uneven skin tone, and even wrinkles, can all be lessened with the use of niacinamide. Again, this is because niacin has the ability to prevent melanin from reaching the skin’s surface, preventing these conditions as well.

Niacinamide & Heart Health

For those who have highly elevated levels of cholesterol or who are at a high risk for heart disease or stroke, niacinamide has been proven to help lower these risks. Niacin can help to lower bad cholesterol while also raising good cholesterol. This can lead to big improvements in overall heart health. It has also been proven to help improve circulation and lead to the reduction of other heart conditions.

Niacinamide & Mental Health

Age-related loss of memory or mental alertness can also be alleviated with the supplementation of niacinamide. Having a deficiency of Vitamin B3 can lead to symptoms such as confusion, aggression, and insomnia. This means that supplementing niacinamide can help to balance your Vitamin B3 levels, treating these conditions if their root cause is a deficiency.

Niacinamide & Joint Health

Due to its powerful anti-inflammatory effects, Niacin is able to reduce joint pain and increase joint mobility.
