Food Allergy Bloggers Conference is one of my favorite events of the year. I get to see friends from all over and every meal is completely free of the top 8 allergens – down to the desserts and cocktails. Many of the meals specifically are gluten-free.
Each year, I find a few new products that I love, and this year was no different.
The Gluten-Free Finds
Good Karma Probiotic FlaxMilk, Pineapple & Greens
The blueberry and strawberry are good, but the pineapple is a standout. It has a tangy tropical flavor and is packed with nutrients from both the greens and the added flax.
Pur Tangerine Mints
It might sound a little strange that a citrus mint was one of my favorite finds at the conference, but it was. I found myself hooked on them and nearly finished a bag in 2 days. They’re fresh without being overpowering and have no strange additives or chemicals. Talk about a win-win.
New Primal Meat Sticks – Classic Turkey & Habanero Pineapple Beef
I’m not a jerky fan. I’m not a processed meat eater. And yet, I couldn’t get enough of these at the conference and have ordered several boxes since returning. The classic turkey was my favorite, but the habanero beef stick was a close second – just spicy enough to give me a kick in the tastebuds, not so spicy that the heat overtook the flavor.
BeFree Seeded Sandwich Loaf
My dislike of gluten-free bread is well documented. It always feels, well, gummy and eggy. A poor stand in for a tasty food. When I was urged to try the products at the BeFree table, I had low expectations. Well, I was wrong. The seeded sandwich loaf is now a staple in my kitchen.
My spidey senses (fast-acting food allergies) have long been a barometer for my celiac friends in a restaurant. Lips getting tingly from getting close to the food? That’s a hell no to everyone at the table and a prayer for me that the tingling is as far as it goes. The Nima Sensor means you can test your food for gluten no matter where you are.
SoDelicious Holiday Nog
This is a total treat, but I can’t not include it. Eggnog is one of my holiday favorites, but large amounts of dairy and my stomach don’t always get along. Plus, this version is for sure gluten-free.
Cybele’s Free To Eat Cookies
They’re aren’t many gluten-free cookies out there that I can’t wait to dig into, much less finish a whole box in a day. The diamond in the rough? The chocolate chip cookies melt my cold, packaged cookie hating heart.
Made by Nature Telula Juice in Black Berry
It’s a thick, tasty juice filled with chia seeds for added nutrition. The best part of this fancy juice is that it is shelf-stable until opened, unlike many others.
I can’t wait to go back next year to see what other tasty treats that are gluten-free are out on the market.
